Free expense tracker app that also reads your utility meters

FinMan is a free expense tracker for you and your family that also handles utility meters and your car: it imports bank statements, reads meter readings and fuel receipts from photos sent to its Telegram or WhatsApp bot, calculates utility bills and the real cost per kilometre, and shows your spending both in your local currency and in dollars or euros, depending on the second currency you choose.

Features

Three things FinMan does for you

Expenses without typing

Upload a statement from any bank — FinMan learns its format, sorts transactions into categories and spots duplicates. Monobank cards sync on their own.

How bank import works →

Utility meters from a photo

Send a photo of your electricity, gas or water meter to the FinMan bot: AI reads the digits, subtracts the previous reading and applies your tariff. For connected providers it also submits the reading once you confirm it.

How meter tracking works →

Your car's real cost per kilometre

Photograph fuel receipts and the odometer: FinMan tracks consumption, repairs and mileage and shows what every kilometre or mile really costs.

Car cost analytics →

Works for one person, for a family group, or for a landlord whose tenants send their own meter photos. How tenant readings work →

Pricing

The core is free, only the AI features are paid

Expenses, bank import, utilities, cars and family groups are free with no time limit. AI extras — meter and receipt recognition, auto-categorisation, parsing of unknown bank formats — cost $2.99 a month, $29 a year or $59 once.

Who makes FinMan

FinMan is built by VHWorx, an independent software brand based in Vienna. It started as a tool for the maker's own family budget, meters and car — and it is still maintained by the people who use it every day.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is FinMan really free?

FinMan's core is free with no time limit: expense tracking, bank statement import, utility meters and bills, car costs, family groups and both bots. Only the AI extras — photo recognition, auto-categorisation and unknown bank formats — are paid, at $2.99 a month or $59 once.

Which meters can FinMan read from a photo?

FinMan reads electricity, gas and water meters from a photo sent to its Telegram or WhatsApp bot or taken in the web and Android app. The AI returns the digits with a confidence score and flags a reading that looks wrong for the season, so a mistake never reaches your bill.

Can FinMan submit meter readings to my provider?

FinMan submits the reading to your provider's online account after you confirm it, and pulls the billed amount back — for the providers it is connected to. The current list, plus deadlines and official channels for every other provider, is on the meters page. Meter readings →

Which banks can I import statements from?

FinMan imports statements from any bank that exports CSV, XLSX or PDF. It learns a bank's format on the first file and parses the next one instantly; for a format it has never seen, AI builds a template on the spot. Monobank cards connect directly and sync new transactions in real time.

Does FinMan work in Telegram or WhatsApp?

FinMan runs the same bot in Telegram and in WhatsApp: log expenses, send meter photos and fuel receipts from whichever messenger you already use, and everything appears in the web and Android app.

The first import takes a minute, a meter photo ten seconds. From there FinMan keeps the records itself.
